We comply with laws and regulations regarding personal information protection and other standards, have developed a protection system for personal information and established the following personal information protection policy, with respect to handling of personal information. In addition, our officers and employees strictly respect this policy when handling and managing personal information.

  • We have assigned a person in charge of managing personal information and strive to ensure that personal information is managed properly.
  • We acquire personal information by legal and fair methods, and at the same time, ensure that information acquired by us is used within the scope of the "Purposes of Using Personal Information" that are clearly specified in advance as described below.
  • We appropriately and carefully manage personal information that we acquire. We also implement information security measures to prevent theft or other leakage, loss, destruction or other destruction, as well as falsification or other damage by unauthorized access to personal data (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Leakage, etc.").
  • We will not provide personal data to any third party, except in any of the following cases:
    • cases in which we obtained the prior consent of the identifiable person;
    • cases in which we are required to provide personal data under laws and regulations;
    • cases in which there is a need to protect the life, body or property of an individual, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the identifiable person;
    • cases in which there is a special need to improve public wellbeing or promote healthy child development, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the identifiable person;
    • cases in which there is a need to cooperate with the national government or local governments in performing the functions prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the identifiable person is likely to interfere with the performance of those functions; or
    • cases in which the third party is an academic research institution or the equivalent (a university or other organization or group whose purpose is academic studies, or a person belonging to it) and needs to handle the personal data for the purpose of using it in academic research (including cases in which part of the purpose of handling the personal data is for academic research purposes, and excluding cases in which there is a risk of unjustly infringing on an individual's rights and interests).
  • In cases where we use personal data jointly with our group companies, it shall be in accordance with the "Policy on Joint Use of Personal Data" as described below.
  • When outsourcing the handling of personal data, we have outsourcing contractors ensure proper management of personal data to prevent Leakage, etc. of the personal data and supervise their management.
  • We respect the rights of the identifiable person regarding his/her personal data retained by us, and when the identifiable person requests us to notify the purpose of its use, to disclose, to correct, add or delete, to suspend using, eliminate or suspend providing to any third party, his/her relevant personal data, or to disclose records on the provision of his/her personal data to third parties, we will promptly respond to said request pursuant to laws and regulations.
  • We continuously review and improve our internal management system for the protection of personal information and strive to maintain proper management.

Purposes of Using Personal Information

We handle personal information acquired by us within the scope necessary to achieve the following purposes of use, except as otherwise notified by us:

  • (1) To execute a contract with us and perform it or otherwise manage transactions;
  • (2) To communicate and exchange information with us, and to give notification and offer greetings based on social conventions;
  • (3) To provide information on our products and services and our group companies' products and services;
  • (4) To verify a user's qualification and identity for our products and services and our group companies' products and services;
  • (5) To conduct surveys, analyses, research, and audits pertaining to our business and our group companies' business;
  • (6) To prepare statistical information or otherwise process and analyze personal information to be used by us;
  • (7) To contact, and provide information to, applicants for employment and recruitment activities or otherwise utilize it as necessary for the employment and recruitment activities;
  • (8) To make administrative announcements and payments of remuneration (wages, bonuses, allowances, etc.) to employees, to carry out procedures for social insurance or other matters relating to personnel labor management, to provide employee benefits, and to conduct health care of employees or other employment management;
  • (9) To respond to inquiries and comments; and
  • (10) To otherwise perform transactions with customers in an appropriate and seamless manner.
